UT Grand Prix 2013 T-Shirt Design Competition Launched US$30,000 in Total Cash Prizes for the Winners
UNIQLO launched the UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) Grand Prix 2013, an annual T-shirt design contest in which participants around the world turn T-shirts into creative works of art. The 2013 contest will take place from August 3rd to September 2nd 2012.
Contest entrants can submit their original designs featuring one of six internationally well-known music artists: AC/DC, David Bowie, Madonna, KISS, the Sex Pistols and The Who.
These music legends will personally select the six winning entries in the Artist’s Choice Award category, whereas an online voting process will choose the six winners in the People’s Choice Award category.

A total of US$30,000 in cash prizes will be available for the twelve winners. UNIQLO will select an additional twelve entries for the Runner Ups’ category, and the company will produce UTs for all twenty-four designs and sell them at its stores throughout the world in 2013. Details regarding the sale of the UTs will be announced in due course.
UT Grand Prix T-Shirt Design Contest
UNIQLO has conducted the UT Grand Prix T-shirt Design Competition annually since 2005, with the purpose of encouraging creative and talented individuals globally. The competition is open to anyone regardless of age, gender or nationality. UNIQLO will begin to accept entries for the 2013 contest from August 3rd 2012. T-Shirt Designs based On Six Artists, including Madonna and KISS
Music is the theme of the UT Grand Prix 2013 T-shirt design contest, with six very popular artists set to participate. AC/DC, David Bowie, Madonna, KISS, the Sex Pistols and members of The Who will personally select the winning entries, with each artist responsible for choosing the six Artist’s Choice Award winners.

Winners of the six Artist’s Choice Award will each receive USD$4,000, while the six winners of the People’s Choice Award will receive USD$1,000 each. UNIQLO will select twelve designs for the Runner Ups’ category.

Entry Requirements
The competition is open to anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Entries will be accepted from all countries around the world.
Judging Process
Six participating artists, AC/DC, David Bowie, KISS, Madonna, the Sex Pistols and The Who, will personally select the Artist’s Choice Award winners for each musical act. A separate online vote will select the top six designs for the People’s Choice Award. Online voting is open to anyone, with one vote permitted per musical artist. UNIQLO will select twelve designs, or two designs for each artists, for the Runner Ups’ category.

Prizes

The awards will be announced on the official UT Grand Prix 2013 website once chosen. The 24 designs will be sold as UTs via the UNIQLO online store and at UNIQLO retail locations throughout the world. Details about the sale will be announced in due course.
