OUTSOURCED Season 1 Concept
“Outsourced” is NBC’s new workplace comedy series centered around a catalog-based company, Mid America Novelties, that sells American novelty goods, including whoopee cushions, foam fingers and wallets made of bacon, and whose call center has suddenly been outsourced to India.
After recently completing Mid America Novelties’ manager training program, Todd Dempsy (Ben Rappaport, off-Broadway’s “The Gingerbread House”) learns that the call center is being outsourced to India, and he is asked to move there to be the manager. Having never ventured out of the country, he is unprepared for the culture shock. Overwhelmed, Todd discovers that his new staff needs a crash course in all things American if they are to understand the U.S. product line and ramp up sales from halfway around the world.
The sales team Todd inherits includes Gupta (Parvesh Cheena, “Help Me Help You”), a socially awkward employee, Manmeet (Sacha Dhawan, BBC’s “Five Days II”), a young romantic who is enamored with America, Asha (Rebecca Hazlewood, BBC’s “Doctors”), a smart, striking woman who finds herself intrigued by Todd, Rajiv (Rizwan Manji,”Privileged”) the assistant manager who wants Todd’s job and Madhuri (Anisha Nagarajan, Broadway’s “Bombay Dreams”), a wallflower who suffers from extreme shyness.
Todd also discovers other transplants working in his office building, including an American expatriate, Charlie Davies (Diedrich Bader, “The Drew Carey Show”), who runs the All American Hunter call center, and Tonya (Pippa Black, “Neighbours”), a beautiful Australian who runs the call center for Koala Air.
From Universal Media Studios, “Outsourced” is executive produced by showrunner Robert Borden (“The Drew Carey Show,” “George Lopez”) and director Ken Kwapis (“He’s Just Not That Into You,” “The Office”), who developed the project through his company, In Cahoots. Victor Nelli, Jr. (“Ugly Betty”), Tom Gorai (“Outsourced” theatrical release) and David Skinner (“Outsourced” theatrical release) also serve as executive producers, and Alex Beattie serves as co-executive producer.

THE OFFICE Concept Season 7

THE OFFICE Concept Season 7
From Deedle-Dee Productions, Reveille and Universal Media Studios comes the hilarious documentary-style look into the humorous and sometimes poignant foolishness that plagues the world of 9-to-5 in the half-hour comedy “The Office,” based on the award-winning BBC hit. Since its premiere on NBC in March 2005, “The Office” has established itself as a genuine hit, earning prestigious television honors such as the 2006 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, 2006 Peabody Award, 2006 AFI Honor, Producers Guild Award, Writers Guild Award, SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy, Ace Eddie Award for editing and a Television Critic’s Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.
A fly-on-the-wall “docu-reality” parody about modern American office life, “The Office” delves into the lives of the workers at Dunder Mifflin paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Regional manager Michael Scott (Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Steve Carell) is a single, middle-aged man who is the boastful tour guide for the documentary.
With unshaken enthusiasm, Michael believes he is the office funnyman, a fountain of business wisdom and his employees’ cool friend. He has no clue that his employees tolerate his inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks. Painstakingly trying to be liked and look cool, Michael comes off alternately absurd and pathetic. His prize possession is his “World’s Greatest Boss” mug — which he had to buy for himself.
Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer, “Walk Hard,” “Blades of Glory”) is former office receptionist now saleswoman. Pam’s office romance with Jim Halpert (John Krasinski, “Away we go” “It’s Complicated”) quickly evolved into marriage followed by the birth of their daughter.
Jim shares his working space with Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson, “The Rocker,” “The Last Mimzy”), the arrogant assistant to the regional manager. Dwight is intensely irritating to normal people while Jim spends a lot of time finding new, interesting ways to drive Dwight crazy. Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak, “Punk’d”) is the young, smart, former temp, who’s fall from grace as a Dunder Mifflin executive quickly landed him back at the bottom of the food chain in Scranton.
Also starring are Ed Helms (“The Hangover”) as Andy Bernard, Leslie David Baker (“Malcolm in the Middle”) as Stanley Hudson, Brian Baumgartner (“Arrested Development”) as Kevin Malone, Kate Flannery (“The Heir Apparent”) as Meredith Palmer, Mindy Kaling (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) as Kelly Kapoor, Angela Kinsey (“Tripping Forward”) as Angela Martin, Paul Lieberstein (writer, “King of the Hill”) as Toby Flenderson, Oscar Nuñez (“Halfway Home”) as Oscar Martinez, Phyllis Smith (“Arrested Development”) as Phyllis Lapin, Creed Bratton (former member of The Grass Roots) as Creed Bratton, Craig Robinson (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Darryl Philpin, Ellie Kemper (“Important Things with Demetri Martin”) as Erin Hannon and Zach Woods (“The Other Guys”) as Gabe Lewis.
“The Office” is executive-produced by Ben Silverman, Greg Daniels, who developed the series for American audiences, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein and Paul Lieberstein.

PETALING JAYA, 7th February 2011 – 8TV brings the world’s fastest-growing extreme sport to Malaysian television in Ultimate Parkour Challenge.

Assuring you that the Ultimate Parkour Challenge is not only mind-baffling but a heart pounding experience that you wouldn’t want to miss! Literally putting you on the edge of your seats, Ultimate Parkour Challenge will keep you squealing to every stunt pulled off by these pros!

What on earth is Parkour? For those of you who are new to the term, this is one of the world’s fastest-growing extreme sports. It is a sport with virtually no limits! The aim is for athletes to get from point A to point B. That sounds fairly simple right? Wrong! There is no track or field for these athletes to run on! Instead, Parkour is performed on any and every environment. Every environment, you ask? Yes, EVERY environment! From walls, cars, stairs, railing, rooftops and ten-foot gaps between five-storey buildings! You did read right!

To reach a point, athletes must leap, roll, climb, vault, fly, or use any and every physical capability, using the obstacles in their way to increase their speed. Trained to perform such stunts, these athletes will perform gravity-defying stunts that will literally leave you breathless.

The Ultimate Parkour Challenge takes the sport of Parkour to a whole new level, capturing the very essence that Parkour is built on. This new special event sports competition will make you shriek as eight of the world’s best athletes compete to win $10,000 and be crowned the Ultimate Parkour Champion!

Showcasing their beyond human skills, these competitors endure 3 rounds of competition and will do whatever it takes to win the crown! The first episode of the series takes off with an introduction to the eight competitors, Ryan Doyle, Oleg Vorslav, Michael Turner, King David, Pip Anderson, Ben Jenkin, Daniel Arroyo and Tim Shieff, who are seperated into two teams. Battling it out, the two teams must show off their best skills or face the axe! Not only will the contestants challenge themselves, they will also challenge each other as well as put their parkour skills to the ultimate test.

“”Parkour” isn’t exactly a household name here in Malaysia, but it’s starting to become more well-known, especially since this combination of gymnastics, sprinting, and jumping off of buildings has been seen in several mainstream movies and with TV shows such as this!” Says General Manager of 8TV, Ms Lam Swee Kim. Kim adds “When it’s done right, parkour is tremendously fun to watch. Seeing someone sprint across a rooftop, spring off the edge, fall two or three stories, hit the ground rolling, and then spring up and keep running at full speed is just wild. This is one show that sees real Parkour athletes in action -makes my jaw drop!”

The stunts these athletes pull off have to be seen to be believed, and even then it’s sometimes tough to believe that the moves are real. With jumps, sprints, falling stunts that take place on cruises, in warehouses, on movie sets and even in castles, the Ultimate Parkour Challenge is one show that will leave you amazed!

Be sure to catch every episode of this mind-blowing series as it jumps on to your screen every Wednesday, at 9.30pm exclusively on 8TV. 8TV is also on Astro’s Channel 708.

The Compelling Chronicle of One of Malaysia’s Most Prolific Performers Sudirman Arshad
Premieres Sunday, 20 February, 10PM on HISTORY™

Kuala Lumpur, 10 February 2011 – AETN All Asia Networks which owns and operates the channel HISTORY™ in Malaysia, once again in collaboration with FINAS, The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia, tells the story of the legendary talent of Sudirman Arshad who, at the peak of his career, took the Malaysian entertainment industry by storm during the late 1980s.

The one-hour biography, Sudirman Arshad, documents the life of one of Malaysia’s most brilliant entertainers from childhood through his illustrious singing career which was tragically cut short by his untimely death in 1992 at the age of 37. Multi-talented Sudirman was a lawyer, television host, writer, cartoonist, actor, and entrepreneur. But he is most remembered for his dazzling stage performances and his innate musical talent. As the first Asian artist ever to record an English single at the illustrious Abbey Road Studios, UK, Sudirman went on to win Best Performer at the first Asian Music Awards held in London in 1989.

However, behind all the glitz and glamour lay the emotional and psychological struggle that was Sudirman’s personal life. He never really recovered from two severe blows – losing his mother at such a young age, and the failure of his marriage to his childhood sweetheart. As a result, the singer constantly battled with emotional emptiness. Even his illness and death were shrouded in controversy.

Through poignant interviews with friends, and personalities from the Malaysian recording industry, such as Yang Berbahagia Datin Rudiah Arshad, Bahyah Mahmod, Beh Suat Pheng and Dani’el Dharanee Kannan, the documentary looks at the real story behind the Malaysian icon with an unstoppable drive for perfection.

“Sudirman is a true Malaysian icon whose legendary talents are loved throughout the region. Despite his personal struggles, he managed to achieve stardom in the short span of his career. Many people will be able to identify with his life story, thereby making his achievements all the more admirable. We are very pleased to have been able to collaborate with FINAS, and their support has helped us do justice in the retelling of this legend’s story,” said Louis Boswell, General Manager of AETN All Asia Networks.

“FINAS is very proud to be a part of this inspiring production. Sudirman was a professional artist who lived, worked and ultimately died for his craft, his country and his fans. He changed the Malaysian entertainment industry with his quirky fashion sense and charismatic on-stage performance never before seen in Malaysia. This documentary aptly reveals why Sudirman was so well-loved and why his legend will continue to live on,” said Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim, Director General of FINAS.

Sudirman Arshad will premiere on HISTORY (Astro Channel 555) on 20 February 2011, at 10.00pm. The programme is subtitled in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese.

• Sudirman had 20 albums and 70 songs to his name over his 16-year career.

• He was popular in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. Although he sang principally in Malay, he performed in Hawaii, Melbourne, Tokyo, Dubai, London and even Russia. Not even Malaysian silver screen legend P. Ramlee was as popular in Asia in his time as Sudirman was in his.

• In 1989, Sudirman was crowned best singer at the inaugural Asian Popular Music Awards at the Royal Albert Hall, beating his more famous contemporaries such as Leslie Cheung (Hong Kong), Anita Sarawak (Singapore) and Kuh Ledesma (Philippines), and others from China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Thailand

• His 1987 song “Merisik Khabar” topped the charts in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei and stayed as the #1 song for two months. Another song on the same album also made it to the top of the charts.

• Sudirman’s style and performance traversed cultural and racial boundaries. He sang in Malay, English, Chinese and Tamil; 25 years before the ONE-MALAYSIA concept was conceived.

• For all the fame and fortune, Sudirman’s personal life was in shambles. He never really recovered from two severe blows – not knowing his mother at all and the failure of his marriage to his childhood sweetheart. Losing his mother at such an early age made him feel unloved and he constantly needed reassurance all his life.

• Till today, the controversy surrounding his illness and his death remains.

• Even Sudirman’s mother was an extraordinary person – a politician who fought for Malaya’s independence alongside Tunku Abdul Rahman. She made headlines as the first state assemblywoman in 1955 at the age of 29.

• Both Sudirman and his mother are remembered for their contributions to state and country through their memorabilia, exhibited at the Pahang State Heroes Museum.
