4 NEW UNIQUE CHANNELS LAUNCHED ON HYPPTV
EC Inspirasi, Outdoor Channel HD, UTV Stars, and Kids Co added to HyppTV’s growing stable of channels

Delight yourself with a collection of the latest Bollywood music videos in HD or go down memory lane by watching your favorite classic cartoon characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and Dennis the Menace come rain or shine?
HyppTV, powered by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through its high speed broadband service UniFi, today launched four (4) new channels as one of their mid-year initiatives in adding more channels on their internet protocol television (IPTV) platform. The channels – EC Inspirasi (Ch 106), Outdoor Channel HD (Ch 172), UTV Star (Ch 194) and Kids Co Channel (Ch 133) will now be a part of the channels offered on HyppTV.
The channels were launched by Emily Wee, Vice President, Business & Media Operations, New Media, TM and Imri Mokhtar, Executive Vice President, Consumer, TM. Also present at the launch were the representatives from each newly-launched channel: Manikandamurthy Velayoudam, Managing Director of Sky Blue Media Sdn Bhd who represented UTV Stars, Michael Simon, Managing Director of Homegrown Sdn. Bhd who represented EC Inspirasi and Gregg Creevey, Managing Director, of Multi Channels Asia who represented Outdoor Channel HD and Kids Co.
Commenting on the launch, Emily Wee said, “The launch of these four (4) new channels comes as the result of collaboration between TM with Multi Channels Asia, Homegrown and Sky Blue Media to enrich the viewing selection of HyppTV subscribers. It is through these partnerships that TM sees a huge potential in reaching to a wider audience base with unique content offerings.”
She added, “The launch today also demonstrates how fast HyppTV is evolving and expanding the customised channels offering on its platform. Being the first to run these channels here in Malaysia also enables us to cater to the demand of unique contents which before this was not available. These new offerings are part of our overall plan to progressively grow our channels and our library of content across a variety of genres and satisfy the diverse range of tastes among our customers. With the launch of these new channels, HyppTV can now assure the uniqueness of its content offerings in line with its aspiration of being the leading IPTV service in the country.”
EC Inspirasi, is a brand new and up-coming channel which is 100% locally produced. Billed as the channel with an ‘indie spirit’, it is set to break new ground with new local TV productions catering to the Malaysian Youth. EC Inspirasi is also another customised content channel on HyppTV which targets youth and ‘Urbanites’ by showcasing the latest in local Music, Trends, Fashion and Lifestyle. The channel is operated and managed by Homegrown Productions Sdn Bhd, an award winning TV production company based in Kuala Lumpur.

Outdoor Channel HD will be the first dedicated channel that caters to outdoor enthusiasts and being a customised content, it is the first channel of its kind to be aired in Malaysia. The channel covers a broad range of traditional and contemporary outdoor sports such as fishing, off-road, water sports, and safari, just to name a few. It also includes specially selected content targeted for the Asian viewership under its Asia Programs selection – showcasing outdoor events competition such as the Kiteboard Tour Asia, Indonesian Surfing Championship, Asian Surfing Championship, Adventure Racing World Championship and many more.

KidsCo channel entertains the whole family with safe and non violent, light hearted content. This will be the First Kids channel on HyppTV targeting at kids between the age of 6 to 10 years old and families. KidsCo’s slate of feel-good, dependable and diverse content provides a safe environment for children and encourages family co-viewing. From adorable short stories and songs for preschoolers, to recognised characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Fat Dog Mendoza and Sabrina plus feature-length movies in the evening, KidsCo is a dependable channel for everyone to enjoy.
Both Outdoor Channel HD and Kids Co channel are operated by Multi Channel Asia for the Asia Pacific region.
UTV Stars Channel is a mass appeal entertainment channel, dedicated solely to Bollywood and its most sought after celebrities in High Definition (HD). Being a customised content targeting at both youths and adults, it will be the first Indian HD Entertainment Channel in Malaysia. UTV Stars is operated by Sky Blue Media Sdn Bhd.
Manikandamurthy, Managing Director of Sky Blue Media said: “We are delighted to bring the first Bollywood channel in Malaysia exclusively to UniFi subscribers on HyppTV platform.”
With the introduction of these new channels, HyppTV offers customers 90 channels consisting of 19 Free channels, 36 Premium channels, 17 Video-On-Demand (VOD) genres and 18 Interactive channels.
The Outdoor Channel HD and UTV Stars are now available in full HD format on HyppTV Channel 172 and Channel 194 at RM9 and RM6 respectively, while EC Inspirasi and Kids Co on HyppTV Channel 106 and Channel 133 can be purchased at RM3 and RM6 each per month.
HyppTV, TM’s IPTV service, is powered by UniFi and is available to viewers come rain or shine through its residential UniFi packages, called VIP package, a triple-play offering that combines voice, video and data. TM UniFi is currently being offered via three (3) residential packages. The residential triple-play packages are VIP5 at RM149 a month, VIP10 at RM199 a month, and VIP20 at RM249 a month.
HyppTV is currently offering a promotional package called the ‘HyppTV Platinum Pack’ in which HyppTV viewers will be able to enjoy 30 amazing channels at a low price of only RM30 per month. The channels offered in the promo pack include exclusive channels available only on HyppTV such as top rated content sourced locally in Malaysia and internationally from U.S, UK, Asia and many more. Not only that, 10 channels out of the 30 channels on offer are HD channels with stunning crisp, clear visuals making viewing experience of these channels more pleasurable.
