Kuala Lumpur, 1 July 2009 – The Shout! Awards is the talk of the town! Are you ready for the countdown to the hippest event yet? The Shout! Awards, Malaysia’s newest and most exciting award show and the much-anticipated event of the year will air exclusively on 8TV in less than 3 weeks!
What’s an award show without amazing performances? At the Shout! Awards, Malaysians have plenty to look forward to as not only will there be appearances from your local celebrities and artists but also an internationally-acclaimed artist!

At the Shout! Awards, Malaysians can expect mind-blowing performances that will captivate your thirsts for great entertainment and enjoyment. Some of the performers include Pop Shuvit, One Buck Short, Jin Hackman, Reza Salleh, Komplot, Caprice, Estranged, Shila, Bunkface, Mia Palencia, Pesawat, Paolo Delfino, Nikki, Joe Flizzow, Rahim Maarof and many more!
The presenters for the night also include Juliana Evans, Deborah Henry, Paul Moss, Fazura, Alif, Yasmin Ahmad, Smek, Pamela & Vanessa Chong, Diana Rusdi, Jojo Struys, Nabil (Raja Lawak 2), Syafinaz Selamat, Afdlin Shauki, One Nation Emcees, Love Me Butch, Sarah Lian and Dato Seri Tony Fernandes.
The Shout! Awards is a loud celebration of the latest in Malaysian music, film, TV and radio. This 17th July 2009, the Shout! Awards will be aired live from Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil and will be hosted by the ever so gorgeous Marion Caunter, local hunk Jien and not forgetting Sarah.
What’s more exciting is that the global chart-topper singer and rapper Sean Kingston will be making his way to the Shout! Awards! Not only will he be gracing the event, fans should also be excited to witness his definite mind-blowing performance at the Shout! Awards.
“We’re extremely happy and excited to announce that Sean Kingston will be making an appearance and performing at the Shout! Awards,” said 8TV’s Chief Executive Officer, Encik Ahmad Izham Omar.
“To have a global chart-topper at the event shows the potential of the reach of Shout! Awards. Aside from Sean Kingston, we also have amazing local acts performing on that night. Shout! Awards is fast becoming the most-talked about awards show in Malaysia this year!” added Izham.
To vote for your favorite finalists of each category, all you have to do is log on to www.shoutawards.com.my.
Another alternative way is to SMS your votes, simply by typing in SHOUT <space> <Vote Code> and send it to 33399.
The online votes will account for 50% of the votes and the SMS voting will account for the other 50%. The winner of each category will be tabulated and audited by an independent party and announced on the event night itself.
The voting polls and lines opened on the 8th of June 2009 and will end on the 16th of July 2009.
The Shout! Awards welcomes its main sponsor, Hotlink and official radio station FlyFM.

There are three ways to be involved. Firstly, 12 specially selected Hotlink and Maxis customers (and their partners) who vote via SMS during the lead up to the awards night will be able to experience the glitz and glamour of the event with a walk down the red carpet on the event night. In addition, they will be treated to a special makeover from Hotlink, giving them the opportunity to be “stars” for the night.
Secondly, Hotlink Youth Club members can redeem four tickets to Shout! Awards by simply redeeming 100 points from their Hotlink Rewards online at www.hotlink.com.my. Tickets are redeemed on a first come first served basis, so Hotlink customers are encouraged to secure them quickly on 17 July 2009 at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil from 4.30pm onwards.
Finally, in conjunction with the Shout! Awards, Hotlink is offering 17 special caller ringtone bundles comprising three songs of Shout! Awards nominees. Fans can download songs of their favourite local artistes at only RM5 per bundle, and every download can be redeemed for a ticket to the Shout! Awards.
For those who would like to attend the Shout! Awards, they should make their way to the last road show this Sunday, 5th July 2009. The road show will feature performances from some of the finalists, a meet-the-fans session and also a chance to obtain FREE exclusive and limited tickets to attend the award show.
Aside from this, the public can also make their way to Sri Pentas and obtain the FREE tickets from the guard house starting 13th July 2009 from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. The public should also lookout for ticket giveaways via the 8TV Quickie, 8 TEAM, FlyFM, Facebook, Myspace and also numerous other magazine and newspaper contests.

The Shout! Awards was created to give recognition to those who have made great impact and creative breakthroughs in Malaysian music, film, TV and radio. It is a 2 and a half hour TV special and the first-of-its-kind awards show for these four industries, aiming to reward the most-deserving artists, actors, radio and TV faces.
