AFDLIN SHAUKI
Afdlin Shauki is a man of many talent; writer, director, stage and screen actor, singer, television and film producer and presenter are among the many things within his capabilities. He has hosted the AIM Awards (Malaysian Music Industry Awards) for seven years running; and as host for the late night talk show Bila Larut Malam. Afdlin was given the award for Best Presenter in an Entertainment Programme during the Asian Television Awards in 1999. He was honoured with the award for Best Actor in Film at the Anugerah Skrin Panca Delima Awards, for his portrayal of ‘Daniel” in Soal Hati. Since then he has been in other movies such as BRAVE, Sepi, Cuci, Papadom, Diva Popular, Gila Gila Pengantin Remaja, Biar Betul, Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam, City Sharks, and many others. At the Malaysian Film Festival 2004, Afdlin was honoured with the award for The Most Promising Director Award for his directorial debut in his first film, BULI. He also won The Best Screenplay and Best Original Script, Best Original Story, Best Screenplay and Most Promising Director at the 2005 Anugerah Skrin (TV3) Awards.
