Petaling Jaya, January XX, 2009 – Be prepared to be blown away by outstanding talents, emotional moments and a whole lot of singing because Malaysia’s hippest and nation’s most-anticipated talent reality show One In A Million will once again grace your TV screens for its latest season!
The hit and well received reality talent show will be showcasing new faces contending to become the next superstar every Friday at 9.30pm starting 23rd January 2009 only on 8TV.
“The third season of One In A Million promises a more thrilling and exciting experience to all fans of the show and viewers of 8TV. Not only will they be witnessing more outstanding talents but also mesmerizing singing skills and performance,” said 8TV’s General Manager of Brand Management, Business Development, Marketing and Communication, Ms Lam Swee Kim.
“With a larger pool of talents that we discovered during the audition sessions in all the 5 locations, we are confident that this season, the Top 12 that were picked are amongst the best that we have from all around the country,” explained Kim.
“With the increase number of more talented individuals and singers competing in this season, the anticipation of winning is much higher and decision making will also be tougher for the judges and Malaysians in general,” added Kim.
According to Kim, the first two episodes that will begin this Friday (23rd January 2009) will showcase the series of audition sessions that were held in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur.
Kuching saw a total of 502 hopefuls whilst Kota Kinabalu attracted approximately 537 aspiring singers. Penang and Johor Bahru were also thronged with an overwhelming number of crowds with 515 and 727 respectively while Kuala Lumpur attracted more than 1000 hopeful singers.
The following episodes then continue with the central elimination stages of the competition which resulted in the chosen Top 12. Viewers will then get to see weekly LIVE performances and eliminations that will be held at Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam.
These LIVE shows will kick off the selection process for the Top 12 singers with one of them being eliminated every week. There will be a total of 15 episodes for this season including the final LIVE Grand Finals episode on 1st of May 2009 that will see the Top 3 compete for the coveted title.
One In A Million is the biggest talent-search reality show in Malaysia where the search is on for the singing talent with the best overall package. The winner gets a music career made possible by a RM1, 000, 000 million prize.
Like last year, competition is expected to be fierce and a truly world-class superstar is likely to emerge at the end of the tough process of auditions, elimination rounds and final judging.

The contestants’ fates lie again in the hands of the show’s distinguished panel of judges, Paul Moss and Syafinaz Selamat. TV personalities and actor Awal Ashaari together with the gorgeous Marion Caunter will be serving as the main link between the contestants, the show and the viewers at home. This will be Awal and Marion’s third year of hosting One In A Million.
