When Taiwan first made a drama series out of the story it became a big hit there. Now 8TV proudly brings you the Japanese version that was written by popular Japanese manga, Hisaya Nakajo. Hana-Kimi is a story about a girl who disguises as a boy to enter an all-boys school in order to be with to her idol that is an athlete of high jumps but quits the sport after injuring himself. Hana-Kimi will premiere on your TV screen from 2nd November 2008, Sunday onwards, at 3pm.

Horikita Maki plays Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl in California who one day sees the young athlete Sano Izumi played by Oguri Shun competing in high jump on television. She begins idolizing him and soon decides she would move to Japan and attend Sano’s all-boys school Osaka Gakuen to be closer to him, so her only way to do that is to disguise herself as a boy.
A year ago, Sano Izumi injured himself while practicing high jumps and decides he doesn’t want to compete anymore. So not only does Ashiya Mizuki wants to be closer to her idol, the aim is also to motivate him to continue being a high jump athlete.
As fate would have it, Horikita Maki gets to share a room with her idol Sano Izumi, but will she be able to convince him to high jump again? Will her identity be discovered by others?
