8TV has done it again! Once again, the network that brings you endless variety of unique programs is proud to introduce to you its latest drama series. This coming August, step into the life of Alam, by catching the soon to be hit series, Alam’s Story! Alam’s Story will premiere on 8TV on 3rd August 2008 at 10.00pm.

So what does it take for a boy from a small town in Muar, Johor to become Malaysia’s Favourite Dancer? With 10 exciting episodes, Alam’s Story is a drama series that brings you a little closer to the heart-warming and moving story and journey of Alam, the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia (season 1).
 
This drama series will also discover the ups and downs and challenges that Alam faced before and during the intense competition towards becoming Malaysia’s favourite dancer.

8TV’s General Manager of Brand Management, Business Development, Marketing and Communication, Ms Lam Swee Kim shares her thoughts on Alam’s Story, “Alam’s story is about Alam’s journey and the hardships that he went through to become Malaysia’s Favourite Dancer,”

“Alam, who travelled all the way on his motorcycle from Muar to attend the audition session in Kuala Lumpur, is a character that shows a lot of passion, determination and perseverance.” said Kim.

“We hope Alam’s story will motivate our viewers that with passion, one will go a long way into achieving his or her goals no matter what they are, just like Alam in this series,” added Kim.
 
Alam’s Story depicts the live of Muhammad Haslam (Alam) who traveled to Kuala Lumpur all the way from Muar with an old and worn out motorcycle to attend an audition session for the hip dance reality competition So You Think You Can Dance (season 1).

Little did he know that the competition had also called upon some of the best dancers who all had one goal in mind and that is to become Malaysia’s Favourite Dancer and win the lucrative prize money of RM 50, 000!

Nevertheless, this did not stop the young B-boy dancer to keep his hopes up and challenged the rest of the contestants. Going through tough choreographed routines, mental and physical challenges and an immense amount of pressure each week, how did Alam manage to survive all this?

Alam’s Story is a true story which features a range of familiar faces on the reality show itself, including Noor and Dennis. Among others, 8TV has also discovered other talents that include Joe, Ment, Mimie V6, Pa’In, Cicak, Kunyit and Lawrence.
Coca-Cola is the proud sponsor of Alam’s Story, the drama series. Coca-Cola, a global brand long associated with music, brings a positive note and sets to refresh the local music industry through a special collaboration with 8TV, the “cool” television channel that appeals to the youth. 

The unique partnership aims to support upcoming Malaysian talents unearthed from the channel’s successful talent search reality programmes such as 21-year old Alam, the winner of “So You Think You Can Dance”, and Shila, first runner up of “One In A Million”.

The first such collaboration will see a brand new music video of Shila’s latest single, “Bebaskanlah”, which is the theme song of Alam’s story and will also feature Alam in it. Both the lyrics of the song and the music video promises to be uplifting, leaving everyone who hears the song and see the music video with a positive feeling.

“Coca-Cola’s association with the music industry is not new. Recognizing that there is a lot of refreshing talent with tremendous potential in Malaysia, we would like to provide opportunities to support and develop them,” said En. Mohamed Kadri Mohamed Taib, Coca-Cola Malaysia’s Public Affairs and Communications Director.

“We recognize that music appeals to people across the board and more so to youths; and this particular music video embodies the Coca-Cola core equities of refreshment and positivism that will uplift the spirit,” he added.

The new music video is expected to give Shila and Alam nationwide exposure through airtime on Media Prima television stations while “Bebaskanlah”, which will be included in Shila’s album scheduled for release later this year, will be used as the theme song for Alam Story television series.
