The iPhone
The iPhone is an Internet-enabled multimedia mobile phone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. It has a multi-touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons.
The iPhone’s functions include those of a portable media player (iPod), camera, in addition to text messaging and visual voicemail. It also offers Internet services including e-mail, web browsing, and local Wi-Fi connectivity. It is a quad-band mobile phone that uses the GSM standard, and hence has international capability. It supports the EDGE data technology.
The iPhone is a prime example of converged device.The iPhone allows conferencing, call holding, call merging, caller ID, and integration with other cellular network features and iPhone functions. For example, a playing song fades out when the user receives a call. Once the call is ended the music fades back in. Voice dialing is not supported by the iPhone.
The iPhone includes a Visual Voicemail feature allowing users to view a list of current voicemail messages on-screen without having to call into their voicemail. Unlike most other systems, messages can be listened to and deleted in a non-chronological order by choosing any message from an on-screen list. AT&T, O2, T-Mobile and Orange modified their voicemail infrastructure to accommodate this new feature designed by Apple.

I want to note that while our WHERE iPhone app does offer Buddy Beacon, a really cool, location based friend finder tool, it is actually much more extensive than Loopt. In fact, WHERE lets you not just find your friends but also share interests in real-time such as locations of favorite restaurants. In addition to friend finding, WHERE offers content from Yelp, nearest available Zipcars, nearest Starbucks, lowest gas prices in your area and lots of other fun stuff that helps iPhone users stay connected with the world around them. Another advantage over other friend finders – WHERE doesn’t track your whereabouts so YOU decide when you want to be found. That means iPhone users also avoid the massive battery drain of constant GPS tracking.

I have been a fan of the iPhone since the first model arrived on the scene. But only recently have I been tempted to upgrade to the latest model, largely do to the vast number of fantastic aps that have been released for it.

iPhone has combined many amazing features together. The only issue seems to be price. For it to be popular in India they need to lower the price.
